The Academy hotel is a townhouse, originally built in 1776 when unfortunately, lifts were not common-place. The history, charm and character of the hotel unfortunately does not allow space for lifts to be installed. Therefore if you would like to stay on the ground or first floor, do place a request when making your reservation. The hotel is a non smoking establishment.

Overall - it was a pleasurable experience. The room needed a lick of paint and the bathroom needs updating. The dining room and staff in general were very nice. It would be important to inform clients that when you book a taxi it is at limousine rates, as this came as a bit of a shock when it came to payment. The accommodation was quiet (room 7).
