Car Parking in London
Driving in London brings the question "Where can I park?" There are many secure public car parks in Central London, most operated by NCP. Parking costs per 24 hours range from 20.00 to 40.00 pounds approx and overnight or 12 hourly is usually cheaper. Many roads in London offer metered car parking in the daytime and then free parking in the evenings, this is especially true in the Kensington area.
Driving in London can be intimidating for the tourist, with its one way systems, narrow streets and 24 hour traffic! London now also uses a Congestion Zone charging system for cars etc. The London scheme requires drivers to pay eight pounds per day if they wish to continue driving in central London during the scheme's hours of operation. This can be paid at petrol stations, shops and as you enter the city center on the roads.
