LOCATION & OVERVIEW OF THIS LONDON HOTEL

This five-star hotel opened in January 2001 and was described by The International Herald Tribune as "like no other hotel you ever walked into". The hotel is located in a landmark building, formerly the headquarters of the Pearl Assurance Company on Holborn.

A two-year restoration process overseen by English Heritage resulted in a hotel rich in architectural detail and original features. Rare marble lines the walls in the bar and restaurant, and ionic columns feature throughout the building.

The architectural magnificence is complemented by svelte modern-styling, attention to detail and savvy service making the Renaissance London Chancery Court Hotel a fabulous addition to the five-star London hotel scene.

Entering the hotel through the imposing arch and carriageway leads to the spacious courtyard and the main entrance hall. QC, the hotel's main restaurant, is located in the former banking hall which served as a set for the Merchant and Ivory film Howard's End. Also located in a former banking hall is The Bar at Chancery Court, destined to become a favourite haunt of neighbouring lawyers, bankers, media moguls and dotcom whiz kids.

The 356 guestrooms and 13 suites are set around a private courtyard, lending an air of tranquillity to the hotel, despite its central location. Some of the largest of any London hotel, all guestrooms feature the latest in-room technology including multiple line telephones, data/modem points - all at desk height, and internet access.

Other features include Sony Playstations, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing boards. The bathrooms are all-marble, many with separate showers and double washbasins.
