The Clarendon Hotel was a last minute booking through Laterooms. It met my expectations fully and the staff were excellent. The room was small but I expected this considering I booked late. All in all a very pleasant trip. I would return.

Arrived and found there was no parking spaces, most of onsite spaces were occupied by White vans and builders lorries. Parking in adjacent streets is free after 7pm however this meant hauling my suitcase for several minutes and leaving my car in a unsecured area - not ideal. The hotel is a rabbit warren of stairs and corridors so yet more struggling with bags and cases. Room was decorated in a 1980s style and had a very distinct smell..what this was I can't put my finger on but I was very worried that after a night in this room I would smell the same. This led me to check out the bathroom where I found no shower or shower attachment. Reception told me several rooms do not have showers or attachments and sent me up a plastic jug!!!! Perhaps

Room 311, very small bath no shower, windows don't close so very cold, bed very hard, rooms very basic, would say it is a three star but just about. I would never come here again and that is the truth....
