The colours used throughout the hotel rooms and reception areas - striking combinations of Chinese blue, mustard, plum and stone - are derived from the original 19th-century floor tiles in the hotel's entrance hall.

Rest and Sleep
A number of our rooms boast elegant, king-size four-poster beds, whilst the majority are furnished with equally dramatic half-tester canopied beds. However, you will be glad to know that we have dispensed with Victorian horse-hair mattresses in favour of luxurious sprung mattresses. Curtains and bed hangings are natural linen whilst the headboards and valances are hand-embroidered; the beds are dressed with cotton sheets, large, square feather pillows and traditional pure woollen blankets. Every room has an antique desk or writing table with conveniently placed power and telecommunication sockets; most rooms also have a separate table enabling you to enjoy Room Service without disturbing your work.

The bathrooms have traditional Victorian-style fittings combined with a lavish use of warm limestone, whilst behind the scenes we have excellent modern plumbing with pressurised hot and cold water. With every room also having air conditioning, you will enjoy the peace and quiet, and comfort, of The Cranley.

Eat and Drink
You can start the day with continental breakfast, including freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee ground on the premises. After your day out you can come back to a complimentary English afternoon tea of warm scones with clotted cream, whilst in the evening you can help yourself to an aperitif and some canapes.

Alternatively, you can order a light luncheon or supper from the hotel's imaginative Room Service menu throughout the day and evening.

REVIEW: I have to say I am not a devotee of the Cranley. I have stayed there twice and have been disappointed both times. Its not that its dirty or in need of a refurbishment it is simply that it is over marketed and expectations are too high. I have looked at Tripadviser "candid" pictures and wondered how a guest managed to gain access to a 4th floor private apartment opposite simply to take a photo of the hotel exterior or who would photograph a breakfast tray so beautifully. Anyway lets look at the positive side of things. The Cranley location is good being located on a fairly quiet side street and convenient for Fulham, Earls Court and Kensington. The condition of the hotel is good as are the excellent beds and the bathrooms. "Antique" furnishings are a bit of a hotch potch, many being modern reproductions. Service is excellent.
Now the downside. The stairs creak like crazy and in conjunction with the gap under the bedroom door letting in light I had a disturbed nights and mornings sleep. There are no public areas unless you mean the couch in the entrance which people exit and entry by. It's cosmetically historic appeal doesn't do it for me, it's overpriced and there are far better options in the area.
