Park Plaza Hotel - Two Thumbs Up

I love this place! The view from the hotel room is stunning, and very much appreciated in the evenings! It's also very conveniently located across the Westminster Bridge, where you can just walk to the Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey.

The rooms were okay, quite small for my taste but nevertheless very comfy and accommodating. I dined at their Japanese restaurant and I loved it!

Wow, I am putting this on our list of hotels and places we would consider staying at.
Looks like this got more advantage than the others, and we don't really mind if the rooms are small.

I always pass by this place from the Westminster Abbey, and I always thought it's the perfect place to stay if you want to go to the nearby attractions.
You just walk on foot and there you are!

I rate the Park Plaza's highly and this one at Westminster Bridge is one of their best in London. When you see it on the map it does appear to be a little out of the West End and on the "wrong" side of the river but the Southbank does have a lot to offer with attractions such as the Eye and of course Gabriels Wharf. Its only a short taxi ride to Victoria Station which has a high speed link to Gatwick Airport.
A quick walk across the bridge will take you to the West End in 10 minutes.
Also just over the bridge is Westminster tube and from here you can travel all around central London including the Tower of London and the City.
My tip would be to take the River Ferry down river to the Tower, on the way you have a 20 minute photo opportunity.
If you stay here, you MUST take in Borough Market !!! A utopia of food products.
The hotel itself is typical Park Plaza design - new and contemporary and a pleasure to stay in.

Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge does a fabulous Mandara Spa Package. A friend of mine enjoyed a wonderful few days there last month and is raving about it, she said that her and her sister had a fantastic time. They enjoyed many spa treatments and also visited lots of the local attractions, which they found very easy to access by foot from the hotel. One of my daughters is getting married next February and I'm very tempted to book us a few days at the Park Plaza Mandara Spa. If I do, I'll come back here and let you know how it went.

I have always heard great things about Park Plaza but you guys really make me wish I'd booked there. Even though I didn't, I will be looking into the River Ferry as I never thought about the photo opportunities. I actually hadn't even thought about the river but that sounds terrific. Thanks for mentioning that, Administrator!
