Located adjacent to the City of London, the Borough of Hackney extends from Shoreditch and Hoxton in the south western part across through Dalston and Stoke Newington ending at Hackney Wick. The central part is Hackney central.
Ther are few hotels in Hackney itself and you would have to look in the south western parts close to the city.
Hackney is the location of the August 2011 riots which saw building burnt down and shops emptied of electronic goods and trainers.
On a more positive note, Hackney was the birthplace of the first Tesco store.
The closest hotel is the City Inn Express, a 2 star hotel located just a ten minutes from the Hackney Empire.
Another more upmarket hotel is the Re Hotel in London Shoreditch. Formerly the Days Inn Shoreditch, this 4 star hotel is situated close to Bethnal Green tube station.
