This is the Hotel-Assist.Com listing of London hotels near The London Palladium in central London
In the 1880s the site of the present theatre was home to hengler's Circus. It was originally named The Palladium before being changed to the now familiar name The London Palladium in 1934.
The London Palladium became familiar to many millions in the mid-1950's with the weekly television variety show Sunday night at the London Palladium - a format that was revived some years later in the late 1980's with Live from The Palladium. The theatre has also been used for concerts - perhaps the most famous one being the 1960's Judy Garland / Liza Minnelli concert which was broadcast on television.
From the 1980s in particular the London Palladium became associated with large scale musicals - The King and I with Yul Brynner and Virginia McKenna, Barnum with Michael Crawford, Singin' in the rain with Tommy Steele, the short lived Ziegfeld with Topol and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang starring Michael Ball.

The Green Park Hotel is sited on Half Moon Street which was laid out circa 1730 and takes its name from a tavern which stood at the corner with Piccadilly. The street has changed little and was full of small apartments occupied by several famous literary figures during the early 1800's. In recent times #27 Half Moon Street has been incorporated into the hotel. In 1849, the address achieved a certain notoriety with Lola Montez, the international adventuress, whose affair with Ludwig I of Bavaria precipitated a revolution. On an August morning, some days after her marriage to a young soldier, she was arrested at #27 on a charge of bigamy!
