Built around 1719 as part of the Burlington Estate, Clifford Street was named after the great grandmother of the 3rd Earl of Burlington, Elizabeth Clifford. A few original buildings remain on Clifford Street, which has junctions with Cork Street W1 and Old Burlington Street W1.
