Curzon Street London W1 is situated in the heart of Mayfair, running from Park Lane into the junction of Fitzmaurice Place and Lansdowne Row, close to Piccadilly and New Bond Street.
Curzon Street stands on the site of what was once Great Brookfield and is named after Nathaniel Curzon, a relative of the Marquess Curzon, who gained possession of the land around 1715.
Building began on Curzon Street, which has junctions with South Audley Street W1, Bolton Street W1 and Chesterfield Street W1, in the 1720's.
Curzon Street lies next to the historic Shepherd Market, a pedestrian area full of pubs, shops and cafes with outdoor seating, named after Edward Shepherd, who built the site in the mid 18th century.
The popular Al Hamra Lebanese restaurant is located here, at 31-33 Shepherd Market W1.
The Curzon Mayfair cinema, a Grade II listed building, stands at 38 Curzon Street W1. One of London's oldest independent cinemas, the Curzon Mayfair has been located on this site since 1934, hosting a number of film premieres and exhibiting a number of groundbreaking films.
Curzon Street is situated 400m from the Hard Rock Cafe, which is located at the western end of Piccadilly, close to Hyde Park Corner.
Other places of interest on Piccadilly include the Burlington Arcade, Fortnum & Mason and the impressive Royal Academy of Arts, situated within Burlington House.
Curzon Street lies close to the excellent bus and taxi services of Piccadilly and Park Lane. Green Park Underground Station, which provides Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria line services to destinations including Oxford Circus and Bond Street, stands 300m south-east of Curzon Street. Other London Underground stations close to Curzon Street include Hyde Park (500m south-west) and Marble Arch (800m north-west).
