Goodge Street is located in the eastern section of London in the Fitzrovia area, between Mortimer Street at its west end, leading east into Tottenham Court Road.

Goodge Street was originally the site of a meadow known as Crab Tree Field which belonged to the wife of a carpenter called John Goodge, whose family began developing the site in the 1740's.

Goodge Street has junctions with a number of busy streets in the area such as Cleveland Street and Charlotte Street. Goodge Street is home to a variety of bars and restaurants serving a wide range of cuisines.

 The Goodge Restaurant, located at 62 Goodge Street, serves a variety of reasonably priced international dishes in an informal atmosphere.

There is also a stylish bar at the Goodge Restaurant, popular with both local workers and leisure travellers, open between 11.00am-23.00pm Monday to Saturday and from 12.00pm-22.30 on Sundays.

Goodge Street Underground Station, which provides Northern line services, is located on Tottenham Court Road, close to its junction with Goodge Street. Travellers can reach Waterloo, home of the London terminal for the Eurostar from Goodge Street Station.
