Oxford Street W1 runs through the centre of the London W1 area, from Marble Arch W1 at its western end through to Tottenham Court Road W1 at is eastern point.

This is one of west London's busiest streets, Oxford Street has junctions with many major roads within London W1 such as New Bond Street W1, Great Portland Street W1 and Wardour Street W1, which leads into the bustling area of Soho. Oxford Street also has an intersection with the popular shopping area of Regent Street W1, the London address for stores from Hugo Boss, Aquascutum, Levi Strauss, Disney and not forgetting the world famous Hamleys toyshop.

Oxford Street stands close to Edgware Road W2, Park Lane W1 and Hyde Park at its Marble Arch end, with bus routes such as the number 73 running the length of this busy shopping street.

Oxford Street is undoubtedly the mecca for shoppers coming to London.  There are many shops and stores along its route catering to all likes and tastes. Many shoppers head to the very popular department store of Selfridges, over 5 levels crammed with top end fashion, gifts, electrical goods, foodstuffs, restaurants and deli's. Oxford Street shares a junction with Argyll Street W1, next to Oxford Circus Underground Station. Argyll Street houses the most famous of all London Theatres, the London Palladium, a theatre that has hosted some of the West End's most popular productions of recent years. Argyll Street stands north of the world famous Carnaby Street W1,where you will find a large number of bars, restaurants and unique fashion outlets.

Regent's Park, where you should take a trip to the famous London Zoo, is located 900m north of Oxford Circus and can be reached via Great Portland Street W1.

Other interesting areas within walking distance of Oxford Street include Piccadilly Circus (600m south) and Leicester Square, with its variety of cinemas, clubs, bars and restaurants is 600m south from its eastern end.

Oxford Street is served well by a number of bus routes, licensed taxis and the London Underground network. Marble Arch Underground Station, which runs Central line services to destinations including Holborn and Bank, stands on Oxford Street as does Bond Street Station, on the Central and Jubilee lines. Oxford Circus Underground Station is situated in the middle of Oxford Street and runs Bakerloo, Central and Victoria line services to stations such as Victoria, the London terminal for the Gatwick Express shuttle service. Tottenham Court Road Underground Station is located at the junction of Tottenham Court Road, Charing Cross Road WC2 and Oxford Street.
