Percy Street W1 is located in the eastern end of the London W1 area and stretches east from its intersection with Charlotte Street, Rathbone Place and Rathbone Street into Tottenham Court Road Situated 200m south of Goodge Street.
Percy Street was built in the 1760's on land belonging to Francis and William Goodge. The popular areas of Bloomsbury, Fitzrovia and Soho are all located within easy reach of Percy Street.
Percy Street is the location of the exclusive Bam-Bou restaurant, situated at 1 Percy Street, the former home of the historic White House restaurant. Bam-Bou provides a wide range of dishes influenced by Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese cuisine, with a number of vegetarian choices, under the guidance of former Ivy chef Gary Lee. There are 2 stylish dining rooms at Bam-Bou, which is also home to an impressive top floor cocktail lounge. Bam-Bou, located within a Georgian townhouse decorated with a French and Vietnamese theme, is now a non smoking restaurant, although guests can smoke in the impressive bar here.
Percy Street is located 200m north of Oxford Street, which can be reached via Rathbone Place.
The Plaza shopping complex, which houses a fitness centre, hairdressers and a number of fashion stores, including the popular Japanese store Uniqlo, is located at 120 Oxford Street, 200m south-west of Percy Street.
Other places of interest close to Percy Street include the British Museum (400m east) and the Pollocks Toy Museum, 250m north on Scala Street.
Percy Street is close to a number of London Underground stations and near a number of bus services on Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road, travelling to destinations including Euston and Kings Cross stations. Goodge Street Underground Station is located 250m north of Percy Street while Tottenham Court Road Station, which provides Central and Northern line services to stations such as Bond Street and Marble Arch, is situated 300m south-east.
