The Piccadilly Theatre is located in in the postal zone W1, the heart of Theatre District in the West End of London. Many main London attractions are close to the theatre, including Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. Piccadilly Circus is the nearest tube station.
HOTELS NEAR PICCADILLY THEATRE LONDON:-
Perfectly located in the area, the Courthouse Hotel London is near to the Piccadilly Theatre, Regent Street and the shopping areas of Oxford Street, Carnaby Street and Bond Street.
An alternative hotel also located close to the Piccadilly Theatre is the Premier Shaftesbury Piccadilly Hotel the Premier Shaftesbury is a very good 4 star property which has been fully renovated.
If cost is an issue in this expensive area, then look at the 3 star St Giles Hotel which is about a 15 minute walk away and offers excellent value for money. Located at the bottom of Tottenham Court Road you can walk to Oxford Street in about three minutes. Within a short walk are Drury Lane, Covent Garden, Soho, Carnaby Street, Regents Street, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, in fact most London attractions. The Dominion Theatre is right next door. The hotel is a purpose built three star with over 600 bedrooms all with private bathroom. There is a very large health club complete with one of the biggest swimming pools in London.
ABOUT THE PICCADILLY THEATRE LONDON:-
A huge theatre - it was claimed in the souvenir brochure celebrating the opening that "if all the bricks used in the building were laid in a straight line, they would stretch from London to Paris". The interior of the theatre is art deco in style, with a huge capacity of 1232.
The theatre opened with the musical Blue Eyes by Jerome Kern, and starring Evelyn Laye. History was made by the theatre in 1928 when the theatre premiered Al Jolson's second film The Singing Fool - the first talkie to be shown in Britain.
An ambient theatre, with superb sound, the Piccadilly Theatre is centrally located, but tucked behind the north side of Piccadilly Circus. Don't let this get between you and a night to remember!
