If cost is an issue in this expensive area, then look at the 3 star St Giles Hotel which is about a 15 minute walk away and offers excellent value for money. Located at the bottom of Tottenham Court Road you can walk to Oxford Street in about three minutes. Within a short walk are Drury Lane, Covent Garden, Soho, Carnaby Street, Regents Street, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, in fact most London attractions. The Dominion Theatre is right next door. ABOUT THE PICCADILLY THEATRE LONDON:-
A huge theatre - it was claimed in the souvenir brochure celebrating the opening that "if all the bricks used in the building were laid in a straight line, they would stretch from London to Paris". The interior of the theatre is art deco in style, with a huge capacity of 1232.
The theatre opened with the musical Blue Eyes by Jerome Kern, and starring Evelyn Laye. History was made by the theatre in 1928 when the theatre premiered Al Jolson's second film The Singing Fool - the first talkie to be shown in Britain.
An ambient theatre, with superb sound, the Piccadilly Theatre is centrally located, but tucked behind the north side of Piccadilly Circus. Don't let this get between you and a night to remember!
