The current Prince of Wales opened in 1937 though there had been a theatre on this site for many years before that. With over 1000 seats the Prince of Wales has always been a venue for large scale productions; Rent, Fosse and the Fully Mont have all graced the stage here over recent years, though its biggest success to date came with Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Aspects of Love which ran for 1,325 performances. With Mamma Mia! recently moving in, this is a record that may soon be threatened.
The opulent Prince of Wales Theatre is finely equipped with some world class services, such as air conditioner and infra-red sound amplification. The theatre is positioned at the 31 Coventry Street at a nearby distance to Piccadilly Circus.
