Savile Row London W1, famous worldwide for being home to some of London's finest tailors, is located between Conduit Street and the junction of Burlington Gardens and Vigo Street.
Built in the 1730's, Savile Row, which runs parallel to the southern end of Regent Street, was named after Lady Dorothy Savile, wife of the 3rd Earl of Burlington.
Savile Row was once a stylish residential area and became noted for its tailors in the mid 19th century. Savile Row is today home to a number of traditional tailors, including Gieves and Hawkes at 1 Savile Row.
The Sartoria Italian restaurant, part of the Conran group, serves a wide range of contemporary Italian and European dishes at its premises at 20 Savile Row.
The English Heritage group have their headquarters at 23 Savile Row.
Savile Row lies close to a number of places of interest within west London, such as the Royal Academy of Arts, located in Burlington House on Piccadilly (75m south).
Other attractions in this area of west London include the St James Piccadilly Market, located in the courtyard of the Sir Christopher Wren designed St James Church, which stands on Piccadilly, close to the Fortnum & Mason store.

Savile Row is situated close to Mayfair and Soho and benefits from excellent transport links due to its central location. Piccadilly Circus Underground Station, which provides Bakerloo and Piccadilly line services to destinations including Oxford Circus and Green Park, stands 400m south-east of Savile Row.
Other London Underground stations nearby include Oxford Circus (450m north) and Bond Street (700m north-west).
