Wells Street W1 is located in the heart of London's West End, between Oxford Street and Riding House Street, sharing junctions with Eastcastle Street, Margaret Street and Mortimer Street. Wells Street is located moments from Great Portland Street and Goodge Street, home to a wide variety of bars and restaurants close to Tottenham Court Road. Wells Street is within easy reach of different areas of west London such as Bloomsbury and Soho.
Wells Street houses a section of the Plaza shopping complex on its eastern side. The Plaza, which also stands on Berners Street and Oxford Street, is home to fashion stores including Oasis, Uniqlo and Warehouse. The Plaza also houses a Holmes Place fitness centre, hairdressers and a wide range of food outlets. Oxford Street, one of the busiest streets in the W1 area, is home to high street stores from retailers such as BHS, Mark & Spencer and Nike.
Wells Street is home to the British Universities Film & Video Council (BUFVC) who organise a variety of courses and workshops off site and at their headquarters at 77 Wells Street W1. The Champion, a traditional British pub which sells a wide range of real ales and offers outside seating, is also located on Wells Street, at number 17. Wells Street is situated 400m north-east of Oxford Circus Underground Station, which provides services to stations including Bond Street and Marble Arch. Tottenham Court Road Underground Station, on the Central and Northern lines, can be found 500m east of Wells Street, close to many London Bus services.
