Wigmore Hall is one of the worlds leading classical music venues, located at 36 Wigmore Street, close to the Fitzrovia, Marylebone and Mayfair areas of west London.

Wigmore Hall was built in 1901 and was designed by Thomas Collcutt for the Bechstein piano company, who owned the site when it was called Bechstein Hall until 1916.

Wigmore Hall opened in 1917 and since then has been renowned for the high level of acoustics inside and its elegant marble interior.

Wigmore Hall underwent a three million pound restoration programme in 2004 and since then visitors can fully experience and appreciate the stylish art nouveau surroundings inside.

Wigmore Hall remains a world class classical recital hall that attracts performers from across the classical music spectrum.

The BBC lunchtime recitals, which take place daily at 1pm within the intimate setting of Wigmore Hall, offer excellent value for money. The Hall has a community and education programme which aims to make classical music available to everyone and provides support for local schools and other educational institutions.

Wigmore Hall is home to an exceptional restaurant, which serves a variety of traditional British and European cuisine in the basement of this grand building.

There is also a bar located within Wigmore Hall that is open daily at various times depending on the times performances are held.

Wigmore Hall is located close to many places of interest within west London, including the popular shopping areas of Oxford Street, New Bond Street and Regent Street.

The impressive Wallace Collection is located 400m north-west of Wigmore Hall in Hertford House on Manchester Square, while Regent's Park, home to London Zoo, is situated 700m north.

Wigmore Hall stands in close proximity to the excellent bus, taxi and London Underground services available on both Oxford Street and Regent Street.

Bond Street Underground Station is located 350m south-west of Wigmore Hall, providing Central and Jubilee line services to destinations including Marble Arch and Tottenham Court Road. Other London Underground stations situated near Wigmore Hall include Oxford Circus (500m south-east) and Great Portland Street (800m north-east).
