London Hotel near Wigmore Street

Wigmore Street is located close to Marylebone High Road and runs east from Baker Street to the junction of Cavendish Square and Harley Street.

Wigmore Street was laid between 1719-46 and is named after Baron Wigmore of Hertfordshire, who was the landlord of the site at the time it was created.

Wigmore Street has junctions with Duke Street, Welbeck Street and Wimpole Street and is within easy reach of the shopping areas of Oxford Street and Regent Street.

Wigmore Street is home to the grand Wigmore Hall, a concert venue which stands at 36 Wigmore Street. Wigmore Hall was designed in 1900 by T E Collcutt, who also designed the famous Savoy Hotel and is elaborately decorated with intricate paintwork and elegant furnishings.

Wigmore Hall holds a number of concerts and music events by world artists throughout the year, many often filmed by the BBC.

Wigmore Street is also home to a number of bars and restaurants, including the popular Spanish tapas bar La Rueda, which stands at 102 Wigmore Street.
