This charming 78 room hotel first opened its doors in October 1991. Located in Belgravia, one of London's most exclusive residential areas, The Lowndes has the atmosphere more of an English country house than a hotel in the centre of London.

Each of the deluxe guest rooms contain elegant en-suite bathrooms and are decorated in traditional style with attractive chintz fabrics in deep greens, pinks and blues. Designed for both comfort and convenience, the furnishings include a writing desk with make-up mirror and hair dryer, an upholstered ottoman for storing luggage, an integrated television and mini-bar cabinet, trouser press, individually controlled air conditioning, safety deposit box and satellite television with remote control.

In addition, one of the five suites has a living and dining area furnished with rich dark colours, a fire place, larger bathroom with heated towel rail and bidet.

Restaurant
The restaurant at The Lowndes Hyatt Hotel, is located on the ground floor and it is accessible from both the Lobby Lounge and from Lowndes Street. A light, modern yet friendly and comfortable ambience makes the restaurant an all-day venue, as breakfast, lunch and dinner is served, as well as refreshments throughout the day.

A magnificent large mirror and a dramatic 17th century painting adorn the restaurant. The interior design comprises subtle lighting, a stripped wooden floor, and soft purple fabrics with mahogany and oak furniture. Large French windows and an enhanced terrace with outside heaters enables guests to enjoy "al fresco" dining even during the "chilly" months.

The Lobby Lounge
Traditional Afternoon Tea, with all the trimmings freshly baked scones, pastries and cakes, finger sandwiches and the Hotels own special selection of English teas, is a special indulgence in the Lobby Lounge, perfect after power-shopping in Harrods, Harvey Nichols and other nearby designer stores. Coffee and other light refreshments are also served in this quaint and relaxed "corner of the world."
