The Melbourne House Hotel, London, has been run by John and Manuela Desira for over 20 years and has a wonderful family hotel feel. The hotel underwent a full refurbishment in 2007 and features a bright and airy feel.
This friendly hotel is located on Belgrave Road in the Victoria area of London being a 5 minute walk from Pimlico Underground Station and a 10 minute walk from London Victoria Station. Being in the heart of the city all major attractions are within easy reach – The Tate Modern, London Eye, Tower of London, The British Museum are all within a short tube ride and highly recommended for a full day out.
Sloane Square, Sloane St, Oxford St and Regent St are all major shopping venues for all the latest, and best quality, fashions and jewels. There are a number of good quality restaurants within walking distance of the hotel for a relaxing meal and a glass of wine in the evening or even to spend a couple of hours over a lazy lunch.
Since the refurbishment in 2007 all 17 rooms have been fully redecorated and all (apart from the 2 basic rooms which share a bathroom) benefit from ensuite individually designed bathroom, Digital TV with over 70 channels, tea and coffee facilities, new showers and free Wi-Fi. Continental breakfast is served in the spacious and tastefully decorated dining room from 7.30am daily.
Reviewing this hotel there are a lot of positive reactions and very few negative ones. Things like friendly owners who are always ready for a chat; clean, well decorated and airy rooms; great bus and train links for getting around are mentioned often. On the less positive side a few comments suggested; hearing people in the adjacent room; hearing the traffic (but this is not a busy thoroughfare) and one customers room was a little on the small side.
This is a small, family run, friendly hotel in an ideal location offering good value for money. There are other hotels is London with bigger rooms but few will offer the personal touch quite as well as the Melbourne House Hotel.
The hotel has a 3 star rating with an average 8/10 rating on all review sites.

Professional and considerate staff who were very welcoming and took trouble to look after their guests. Good location in a calm street, only a short walk from tube and bus links.

The view from our window was amazing: we could see the Westminster towers and London Eye.

With this hotel you get a lot for your money. The location is good, in a nice area with an excellent pub around the corner (it's called Cask and have the best selection of beers I've seen in London) and Westminister, Victoria station etc. with in easy walking distance.
