Moorgate Station
Moorgate is located in Central London in the EC2 postal zone which is the heart of the Financial District or "Square Mile" of the City of London. This area was the last undeveloped part of London City, Moorgate being the fifteenth century entrance or "postern" to Moorfields.
Moorgate sits adjacent to Liverpool Street Station in the east and the Barbican to the west. Moorgate tube station is opposite Finsbury Circus and is a convergence of no less than four tube lines, Circle , Hammersmith , Metropolitan and Northern.
Moorgate is primarily a commercial area with very little in the way of residential property. As a prime business district, there are many restaurants and shops to cater for the city workers. Weekends in this area are quiet.
Hotels in Moorgate also cater for the business traveller and are consequently usually 4 or 5 star quality with prices to match. Because they are quiet at the weekends, hotel prices on Friday and Saturday nights can be very competitive.
