Hotels in this area depend on business trade and at weekends discount their rates to entice tourists away from the higher priced west end equivalents just 3km to the west of here. In fact, from Pepys Street where the Novotel Tower Bridge is located, you are 2 minutes walk to Tower Hill tube station and the Circle and District line. From this station in minutes and with no changes, you can whizz to Westminster to visit the Houses of Parliament, South Kensington and Sloane Square for the museums and Harrods and Earls Court for the Exhibition centre. You could even stay on the train a little longer and go to Wimbledon. Now here is a tip; less than 5 minutes walk from the Novotel is the River Transport system and you can hop on at the Tower of London which is just a 5 minute walk and sail down the Thames viewing all the famous London landmarks, alighting at the London Eye. On a nice day I love the walk from this hotel across Tower Bridge and along Southbank to the London Eye. The hotel is on a lovely side street off Coopers Row. This is a quiet location during the evenings so sleeping is no problem. Locally, there is a very trendy bar frequented by the local young city boy faction called Mary Janes, unfortunately not open at weekends. The public areas are very chic for a Novotel and themed after Samuel Pepys. The modern bedrooms which are all airconditioned are stylish and host all the usual Novotel accessories including WiFi, safety deposit box etc etc etc...
Hotel Assist Verdict: Value for Money - Excellent value with rates much cheaper than its local competitors. Given the lovely location in an area steeped in history its probably the best value for money option in the City. Two children under the age of 16 for free - wow now thats a family incentive!
