Piccadilly Circus can be found in the very center of the West End of London. To many tourists to London, this is a first port of call to see the statue, Eros, and to take a photograph.
Whilst there is nothing spectacular within Piccadilly Circus unless you like fast food, the surrounding area has some great attractions and shopping areas.
Shaftesbury Avenue runs off the northern part of the Circus and has theatres and Soho. To the west of Piccadilly Circus is Piccadily itself with The Ritz Hotel and Fortnum and Mason.
Regent Street is also a shoppers paradise with many "special must visit outlets" including the Ferrari Store, Hamleys Toy Store and Liberty.
Immediately to the east of Piccadilly Circus along Coventry Street is Leicester Square.
Piccadilly Circus is also known as Theatreland and the majority of London theates are within easy walking distance.
Immediately to the south of the Circus is Jermyn Street which is world famous for tailor made gentlemans clothing.
Hotels around Piccadilly Circus tend to be upmarket and expensive. In the 5 Star category there is the Hampshire Hotel in Leicester Square. On Shaftesbury Avenue, just 200m from the Circus, is the Shaftesbury Piccadilly Hotel with Soho directly behind it.
Located on Piccadilly is one of the worlds most famous hotels, The Ritz.
