The contrast between the bustling city outside and the serenity within its doors is just one of the quiet miracles performed by the four star deluxe Rubens at The Palace.
Superbly located opposite Buckingham Palace, the Rubens is a traditionally furnished hotel with a well-earned reputation for excellent service and a superior standard of comfort throughout all its luxury suites and luxurious guest rooms, but especially in the eight sumptuously furnished rooms of the Royal Wing. The Old Masters Restaurant, Palace Lounge and Cavalry Bar are charming and elegant locations for eating and meeting, the intimate Library Restaurant offers fine dining in regal surroundings.

Close to Victoria, Westminster and the Royal Parks, the Rubens provides all its guests with both an exceptional hotel experience and easy access to the whole of London.


Accommodation at the Rubens comprises 151 deluxe guest rooms, 8 royal rooms and 13 luxurious suites. All are beautifully furnished and offer individually controlled air conditioning, bureau desks and twice daily maid service (on request). Business Ready rooms add a range of practical extras for executives on the move, including specially designed work areas with speaker phones and high speed internet access. A selection of rooms have also been designed with the lone female traveller in mind, providing thoughtful extras and enhanced security measures for peace of mind during your stay.
Rooms

All of our rooms are equipped with a state of the art in room entertainment system, which includes a full range of the latest blockbuster movies, kid's favourites and old hollywood classics as well as a cd library of music for you to download whilst you relax or work in the room with a wide selection of music types, ranging from pop & rock to classical and jazz. All rooms have high speed internet access should you wish to use your laptop or if you prefer you can access the internet via the TV system. Each of these services can be accessed individually or we offer a great value "Bundle" where you can purchase unlimited access to all of these facitlities for a 24 hour period at a very reasonable cost.

Classic Double/Twin
A luxurious room with all the latest facilities to make your stay both enjoyable and comfortable. These rooms feature a queen size bed or for a twin room two classic single beds. All rooms offer 24 hour room service as well as tea and coffee making facilities.


Superior King Room
All the features of a Classic Double as well as a spacious desk working area with swivel chair and complimentary business stationary and equipment. All rooms are spacious in size and feature king size beds. Our Executive King rooms also feature a sofa bed, allowing for triple room accommodation.
Royal Rooms

Henry VIII
This royal double room boasts a sumptuous red and gold colour scheme in keeping with the lavish Tudor lifestyle. This room also comes complete with a canopy over the bed, DVD player, plasma screen in bathroom and original artwork.


Charles I
An opulently furnished king bedded room with a distinctly royal theme. Glorious golds and regal reds add to the sense of grandeur that this room provides. This room features a seperate walk-in shower with underfloor heating in the bathroom
Elizabeth I
Overlooking the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace, this majestic room in honour of Queen Elizabeth I, offers a level of style to match the view. Complete with its own chandalier and ceiling decoration as well as a fully stocked mini bar and printer/scanner/fax for business travellers.
George V
Vibrant and rich fabrics are the flavour of this room. Again with views overlooking the Royal Mews and with a luxury bathroom including a mirrored ceiling this room truly is fit for a king!
Mary Queen of Scots
Lose your head in this room fit for a Queen. This unique room features a king sized bed with leather headboard and tartan bedspread and carpeting. For the ultimate in luxury watch TV in bed with your very own pop-up TV screen.
Victoria
As befits England's longest reigning queen this room is awash with sumptuous fabrics and treasures from the glorious Empire. Sleep in a bed draped with fine silks and velvets and admire the beautiful hand painted roses on the ceiling.
Prince Regent
This unique monochrome styled room is a tribute to the outlandish Prince Regent. The magnificent bathroom features specially imported black and white marble tiling for the ultimate in style and sophistication.
Prince of Wales
The Regency styled feel of this spacious king bedded room gives a sense of understated elegance and charm. This room comes complete with one fully mirrored wall and silk wall fabrics throughout.
Suites

A suite offers exceptional style, space and comfort, with all the features of standard and business ready rooms plus the extra touches that make a stay truly special. An exciting recent addition to the London hotel, the Royal Wing offers eight magnificently decorated guest rooms, each themed on a British King or Queen, which provide all the facilities of Business Ready rooms plus further amenities including state of the art leisure technology

African Queen Suite
This split level suite offers a high degree of luxury and comfort as well as a unique opportunity to imagine sleeping in Africa whilst in the heart of London. Leopard print carpeting and original African artefacts are evident throughout. Facilties include a pop-up TV screen to watch your favourite wildlife shows on in the comfort of your bed.


Monarch Suite
One of only two Master Suites in the hotel and the only to boast a four poster bed and jacuzzi tub this is the perfect room for those special occasions. The suite also offers a seperate lounge room with plush fabrics. antiques, paintings and books. For entertaining the suite also features a dining table which seats up to four people comfortably.
You can request a specific room or suite from our wide choice which also offer splendid views overlooking The Royal Mews inside the grounds of Buckingham Palace, which accommodates the horses and coaches used on state occassions, the horses are excercised regularly. The Royal Mews is open to visitors most days with the exception of state occasions and during Royal Ascot week in June, ask our concierge for more information.
Health & Fitness

The hotel is surrounded by the most beautiful parks in London making it very easy to head out for a jog or long stroll, our concierge team will be happy to provide you with jogging routes and interesting walks. The oldest of London's parks and arguably the prettiest is St James' and is only a few minutes from the hotel and offers fantastic views of the city.

For those guests wishing to relax and unwind we offer a 24 hour massage service and beauty treatment specialist, alternatively why not try out some yoga in your room where we can provide you with a complimentary video and yoga mat. Although the hotel does not have its own gym facilities, guests can make use of the Queen Mother's Sports Centre only ten minutes from the hotel for a daily charge of £10. Facilities at the centre include a swimming pool, cardiovascular equipment, free weights, sauna, sunbeds and various exercise classes.

For our Executive Club members we can offer complimentary use of LA Fitness centre only two minutes from the hotel offering all the latest in gym facilities including a swimming pool.


Restaurants

Old Masters Restaurant
A great choice for breakfast, lunch or pre-theatre dinner. Set in the style of a traditional carvery with high, ornate ceilings and chandeliers The Old Master's has many succulent roasts on offer daily, and is well known for its Aberdeen Angus beef selected from the finest Scottish herds. Executive Chef, Daniel Collins, also delivers a fine selection of salads, fish and vegetarian options.

Breakfast in the Old Masters is a must for guests where you can enjoy a healthy breakfast of cereals and fruits together with warm pastries and croissants or if you prefer the full English cooked breakfast then we are famous for ours and it all comes in a buffet style so you can help yourself to as much or as little as you like.


The Library Restaurant
Richly embroidered fabrics and large comfortable armchairs compliment the intimate atmosphere of our AA Rosette Library Restaurant. Here you can enjoy award winning English and international cusine accompanied by the finest of wines, our Restaurant Manager will be happy to offer a free tasting of our Bouchard Finalyson collection of wines from South Africa.

Signature dishes such as our whole grilled Dover Sole with chive and butter sauce are a firm favourite and all our dishes are prepared using the finest of fresh ingredients. It is worth pointing out that we own and operate our restaurant facilities and can therefore accommodate any special requests and dietary preferences with a minimum of fuss. Service is first class, unpretentious and unobtrusive meaning you can sit back and enjoy rour meal, our staff are always available to discuss the menu and recommend dishes.


Room Service
We operate a 24 hour room service menu offering a varied selection of snacks such as the Hot steak sandwich served in Artic bread with caramelised red onions, grain mustard and tomato. Service is first class and available through the night meaning for the international traveller there is something to satisfy at any time of the day.
Bars

Cavalry Bar
Our Cavalry bar offers a comforting respite with a wide selection of drinks including Joseph Perrier Champagne served by the glass or a warming Inverarity ten year old single malt whisky, bottled especially for RCH in Speyside, Scotland. The bar itself is decked out with military artefacts of various eras and traces historical periods of the British Empire. For entertainment in the evening we provide subtle live piano to help relax and unwind after a long day in busy London.


Palace Lounge
Adjoining the bar is our Palace Lounge with wide open views looking onto the entrance to The Royal Mews, this is a great spot to sit and watch the world go by over afternoon tea or simply a few nibbles and a drink from the bar.
