West Kensington Overview:
West Kensington is located in West London in the W14 postal zone and lies between Kensington to the east and Hammersmith to the west. Earls Court and Fulham are to the north.
This is a mainly residential area of houses, apartment blocks and flats. Hotels in West Kensington are on the increase and tend to be cheaper than Kensington proper. Due to the closeness of Imperial College, it is a favoured settling place of students.
From West Kensington you have easy access to not only High Street Kensington but also the museums, shops and restaurants around Gloucester Road tube which is a 15 minute walk.
West Kensington is also very handy for trips to the Hammersmith Apollo.
The West Kensington tube station is on the District Line which travels all around central London. The Piccadilly Line at Barons Court and Earls Court travels directly to London Heathrow westwards and into the West End going eastwards.
